At Om Med Spa, we believe that neuromodulators should be used conservatively to soft and smooth wrinkles, not to freeze all muscle movement. We use the smallest doses of Botox and Dysport possible to achieve optimal results. You will still have normal movements but will have much smoother skin and smaller, fewer, or complete resolution of wrinkles in the treated area.
The most common areas on the face for wrinkle reduction with neuromodulators are the horizontal lines on the forehead, the vertical lines between the eye brows, and the crow's feet on the lateral eyes. Advanced cosmetic techniques include brow lifts, bunny lines on the nose, crepe-like skin under the eyes, correcting a down-turned smile, lipstick/smokers' lines above the upper lip, wrinkled/dimpled chin, gummy smile, and asymmetrical or unwanted dimples.
The quantity of Botox/Dysport required varies from person to person. We preform and in-depth assessment of anatomical features and muscle strength/function during your consultation to determine your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan for you.
Neuromodulator needles are very, very small and feel like a small prick. For clients who are nervous about injections or very sensitive to pain we can apply strong numbing cream prior to treatment to increase comfort and reduce anxiety.
You will first notice wrinkles softening from Botox and Dysport 2-4 days after your treatment, and will see the full effect in 10-14 days.
Wrinkle reduction lasts 3-4 months for most clients. We have a few clients that see results for 6-9 months, though not typical.
The results from Botox and Dysport are very similar, but we do have some clients who prefer one neuromodulator over the other. During your consultation we will discuss results from clinical studies, reports we have heard from our clients, and help you make the right decision for you.
Yes! We use Botox to treat migraine, tension headache, axillary hyperhidrosis and teeth grinding/clenching. We do not currently bill insurance or file prior-authorization requests.
All medications are toxic in large doses, even tylenol or ibuprofen. When Botox/Dysport are used for cosmetic or medical treatments, the doses are very small and the placement is controlled. Multiple high-quality medical research studies have demonstrated that Botox/Dysport are very safe when used in the recommended doses.
