Redness, itchiness, flaking, and mild swelling are common and typically resolve within about a week. Full recovery ranges from three days to two weeks depending on the peel.
Stop retinols and exfoliants two to three days before your appointment. After, avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks, keep the area clean and moisturized, and do not pick at peeling skin.
